Further proof that cops are morally bankrupt leeches that are only in it for easy work and pension pay outs. There are deathly dangerous parts of my job, do I tell my customer or boss “no fuck off pay me” while I sit in the parking lot? No, I do the task that I’m trained to do and cash the check. There’s dozens of jobs more dangerous than cops. How anyone can hero worship these guys is baffling.
So what's your solution? To have no cops, and everyone loves everyone until we all make it nirvana? Every civilised society needs cops. They are always going to be criticised for what they do when a situation goes pear shaped, because that's the nature of the job. However, the competency of cops in any given nation is really only a barometer of how fucked your society is. Go to some parts of Asia, Africa and South America. The cops their are more likely to take your life than risk theirs. I don't have any solutions either, but I feel like hating on cops is always futile because they are a necessity. The bureaucrats that control them are the ones that are disposable.

If cops get any pushback for anything they simply stop getting out of their car. I have seen it in two of the states where I have lived. You’re literally defending zogbots that suck our tax money up and sit in the parking lot while grade school kids are victimized. Look at you stand up for the pigs that stand down during this event.

Or we could prosecute them for failing to perform their duties. Strip them of their pensions when they damage the community. Require they carry a self paid bond. Mark them when they are dismissed for severe offenses and bar them from future employment in other communities. Make their immunity contingent upon following the law, which would include their supposed responsibility to protect the community.
