They give themselves a raise everytime there is a vote on it. Who wouldn't? And I think we need to go back to the days of being a Senator or Congressman is a civic duty? You have to keep your day job and are paid a very low amount to hold the position. No more life long politicians that have done nothing in their 50 yrs in office. It'll never happen until they are all hung though.
