The opposite should be done, get rid of the FDA. The FDA is needed to protect the pharma industry from litigations that would ruin them in no time. That can be solved without an agency: The industry is protected as long as they are open about any stuff that is in their products and the data they have about it. Doctors and patients can then make their own well informed decisions.
