What I got from the article is that pro-border marchers were going to stop at the sanctuary for an interesting break from the march along the way and some asshole 'former official' wants to prevent the people from having a nice walk and visit to the sanctuary. Probably was going to be a just like a tourist stop where they took pictures and could have been a way to collect donations from the good MAGA people.
