The problem is most people don't know the Constitution so they expect something to come from these congressional hearings. These hearing are just for the people to see. The Constitution doesn't give Congressmen the power of arrest. They can make laws but they can't enforce them. Even in cases of lying to Congress (perjury under oath) all the congressmen can do is ask the DOJ via the AG to investigate. Which as we've seen seldom happens.
