After the stolen election of 2020 and the lack of any Republicans standing up to fight it, I would not hold a Constitutional convention. I think you are correct. They would change the constitution to suit the elites not the people. The first two Amendments would be first to go away then the whole of the Bill of Rights. Replaced with those elusive Human Rights promised in the USSR, the new South African constitution and the UN Constitution.
