Buddy went to buy a truck at a Toyota dealership. No trucks. They trickle in and get sold in hours.
They're even pre-sold most of the time. The dealerships themselves are LOVING this. They have waiting lists of people willing to pay more than MSRP for every vehicle the dealership can get their hands on.
It's sucking for the manufacturers because their sales are down, but the dealers' margins are up.

The Ford dealership in my area has an entire lot of shiny 2021 trucks. All of them are missing the microchips necessary to allow them to drive.
