Hypocrites, vacillate between "democracy" and "it's for your own good" whenever convenient. If left to the will of the majority we wouldn't have forced integrated failing schools, crime-spewing affordable housing poisoning decent communities, and our two-parent homes and fully-stocked gun lockers would be kept warm by cheap coal. We would travel by cheap gasoline produced locally without the need for endless middle eastern wars. Machine parts, electronics, and household goods would be produced by Americans for Americans, and the out of spec, unusable garbage floated in from third world imbeciles by the metric fuck-ton would be unwanted. And we certainty wouldn't permit a destitute, Hispanic, 20 something bartender into Congress. If you want democracy then let's have it; most Americans are still decent enough to make good and moral decisions. But be careful what you wish for, Congressman. You just might get it.
