Imagine being the government and letting Rand speak freely. During communism, if you spoke up against the state you were either thrown into a gulag or disappeared completely.
Now we have people like him speaking the truth (more or less) and not being punished in any way at all. That is proof that the government's owner has complete control: they can completely ignore the hundreds or thousands of people complaining about losing freedoms.
Why do they not care?
