Even if they scurry off, that does not absolve them of culpability for actions they have already done. To me it looks like rats fleeing a sinking ship. Perhaps shit is about to get even more fucked up, who knows. The whole thing is an utter shit show, surely everyone involved can see this and some are now taking any opportunity they can to get the fuck out before it collapses entirely.
