Part of the problem lies with the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). The coalition rebuffed Biden's call for increased production earlier in November. Since the group controls much of the world's gasoline supply, the decision practically guaranteed gas prices would stay high. Yet the White House has a trick up its sleeve. The Strategic Petroleum Reserve — an underground network of crude oil wells — currently holds more than 600 million barrels of oil. Biden should "open up" the stockpile to lower gas prices and dampen inflation where it's hottest, Sahm said.
Remember when the USA was the worlds exporter of Oil. It was only like a YEAR AGO!
Yeah, those were good times, with the BBB bill it won’t happen again unless most of it gets challenged and overturned in court.
Do you remember when we had our own factories and didn’t have to rely on imports of shit that breaks if you look at it wrong to survive, we had ports to export.
My aunt who is 86 still had the toaster from when she was married up to a few years ago. Her husband would just replace a part and it would be back up and running, the same as her refrigerator and deep freeze. But her husband died and her kids don’t know how to fix things like the old timers so she had to get new stuff.
She said she was happy she’d been wanting new appliances for decades but he wouldn’t waste the money.
