I think some of the times these people have the gut feeling that it's false, but they won't raise their voice because then they'll lose their job. How exactly are people going to survive without a job to rely on when they've grown up as a part of the system their entire lives? I'm not necessarily defending them, but it seems like you either go with the lies or you'll end up in poverty, then you'll have to get a job anyway despite not wanting to believe the lies.
