10% of inmates in the country are in private prisons. Private prisons are only a small part of the problem. The u.s. average prison term is double what average term is in Europe. We could cut prison population in half by just cutting sentences in half. We could cut prison population by another 60% of what's left by decriminalizeing drugs. There we have now cut the prison population by 90%. With 2 simple logical laws. But nobody wants to talk about solutions. Just blame big business! That's the problem!
