Oh yeah you’re right, I’d forgotten about that. Still, getting “forgotten” about in Western cinema is a common Orthodox experience. I’m pretty sure it’s on purpose though, since most First Century jews became Orthodox Christians, and even have their own Patriarchate in Jerusalem who manage the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and other holy sites. I think they’re still bitter about that.
I think they also worry that, if American Evangelicals find out about them, they might actually want their money going to the actual Judean Christians, rather than the people pretending to be “jews”.
As such, I think there’s a “good” reason the Orthodox aren’t more commonly featured in Western pictures.
