That's super naive. He used the veto to extract concessions. The reality is that the President doesn't have the power of legislation, that is the Congress. The President just expertly used the "bully pulpit" to steal some of that power back. Do you really think he'd just veto it and go home and then Congress would be all "Oh, guess that's that" and forget about their graft and kickbacks and promises to donors? No, of course not. He took a shit bill and made it better. He also used some bill I can't remember the name of to get them to agree to 230c changes, the $2k, and something else. If you weren't a lazy blackpilled shill you might know that.
But the bill was shit all around. Socialist $2k checks to everyone? A complete veto and throwing the entire thing in the trashcan was the BATNA here.

That would never happen. Be realistic. He could just high road the fuckers and throw it in the can but if he vetos, they have the majority to bypass. If he burns it, it becomes law after 45 days. Its a lose-lose situation. This is his only play here. I dont give a fuck about the debt issues plaguing the country right now. Its over, do you understand? Finish your prep and make your choices.
they have the [super]majority to bypass
Do they really?
