I watched it from home. I had that day off work because of an issue at the job site and watched it because I happened to be able to.

I love the backhandedness of it. Very elegant insult.

I was 5. I was in...fuck if I know. Pre-school? (Stupid September birthday) Couldn't tell you if we watched it live. I doubt it though, most schools didn't have rabbit ears for the TVs and cable wasn't widely available.

Literally the age of "AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! THE PRESIDENT IS ON!!!!"

I'm sure my dad has the magazine about it. He collected those types of things.

I recall seeing that. I noticed something seemed off about the one booster. Then there was a large cloud of smoke and the two boosters flew off in separate directions.

There may be confusion between "The Challenger Disaster" and "The Columbia Disaster", although both happened.

I like this comment:

What's funny is you've probably repeated this lie your whole life thinking it was true

There’s a lesson there. People can hold the most ridiculous beliefs in their heads for their entire lives. For many people it would take a few thousand people telling them they’re wrong for them to both realize it and fully admit it. If only a few people had replied to set this guy straight he would have ignored them and gone back to his delusion.

I know exactly where I was.
