Ever been? We travel through it a couple times a year, and overnight and day trip there. Cities are cities, and there are heavier than average nog infestations there - particularly in the southern 2/3 of the state. Northern Alabama is delightful: Mostly white, rolling, hilly terrain, forests, creeks, waterfalls, etc. Jasper in the NW part of the state is very nice. Have former classmates that settled in Huntsville because they're engineers, and they prefer to have everyone think it's Hicksville/shitsville so no one else moves there. I hear the beaches are nice, but I tend to avoid those places in general because IQs tend to plummet where drunken idiots congregate. Now Mississippi...
