I just finished watching the entire series, front to back, with my wife. We watched two or three episodes each night on consecutive nights. I don't know a television series that has characters as well developed as Breaking Bad. Every character is fully rounded and complex.
Walter goes from being a milktoast, hen-pecked husband to being a full-blown psychopath, and yet the character remains interesting and even sympathetic to a degree.
Jesse is just pathetic from start to finish, a true loser in every sense of the word, but at the same time a nice guy with a sense of loyalty and basic decency.
Skyler is a bitch. Love him or leave him, Skyler, but stop blaming him for your own decisions.
The gimpy son whose name I forget was the weakest character in my view. He was just there, kind of dumb all the time. My wife thought he might be retarded. I don't blame her.
Hank was great, a real bulldog, loud and rough but pretty decent.
His wife Marie was the least likeable character, with the exception of Skyler, who was truly hateable. The writers gave her a shop-lifting problem, but never really did anything with it, which was a disappointment.
The old guy in the wheelchair was a hoot. Ding-ding-ding!
Definitely check out Better Call Saul if you haven't. It's a great series too. You learn about Jimmy McGill (Saul) Mike and Gus and the Salamacas and get to see Hector before what put him in the wheelchair. Great new characters too.
