Hadn't watched TV since 2009. There wasn't much else to do while in the hospital. But there were several programs I binge-watched that I actually enjoyed:

-- Law & Order: The original, plus Special Victims. Got tired of it after a while because it became so predictable.

-- Chicago PD: This program caught on quickly; I started really enjoying it. One of the stars is a guy who plays the role of Sgt. Voight; if a suspect jacks him around, he slaps the shit out of him. Acts like a real cop should.

-- Hawaii 5-0: The 2010-2020 remake. Started off slow, but it began to catch on. Enjoyed the constant ragging between McGarrett and his second-in-command.

I still don't have a TV at the house, and I'm not going to get cable, but I guess not everything on the telly sucks as I thought.

There's good stuff out there, you just have to be choosy. I have only one streaming service (not Netflix) and it doesn't have everything. DVDs are still nice and you can find obscure movies in second hand charity shops that you won't find on any streaming service (I'm keeping an eye out for the Charles Bronson version of The Mechanic. No luck as yet.)

Poal/Voat often has an all or nothing approach to things. Not everything is all bad and not everything is all good. Yes, Hollywood is unimaginative and produces a ton of shit shows but there's the occasional goody. The world won't come to an end if you enjoy some TV series.
