Exactly as I suspected.
I feel like it starts that way almost deliberately, because they're all new together and are covering insecurity in new stressful situations with humour, as one might do in that situation. It feel better than Star Trek already from it's very inception.
I want to watch the rest even more now!
Seth gets the tone of Star Trek more than what they are doing with Picard and Discovery.
Although I'll admit I didn't bother watching a single episode of Discovery. I read enough about it that I didn't bother. Who knows, maybe I'll have time to check it out when we are all locked down Wuhan Martial Law style.
Picard and STD are bullshit and don't canonically count at all, in my opinion. Nonetheless, their mere existence means that Trek is dead; murdered! So we must shop elsewhere, and so we are!
I am grateful for the nerds who still watch that utter garbage in order to warn the rest of us, with screenshots and descriptions [which as you clearly know are VILE!]!!
Why bother checking out that sad faggotry fest unless you just want to hate-watch is, I guess! It looks SO FUCKING TERRIBLE!!
I'd admit I have been watching Picard. I thought I was done after the trash that Ep 7 was. So bad that I skipped to the end of most scenes. Then I saw the crap about Seven of Nine and the Borg cube and it hooked me into watching Ep 8. It wasn't God awful, the Borg parts were entertaining, but it is the overall tone that is off. I still can't get over that they say 'Fuck', and have drinking problems. None of that make sense in a Trek world.
