Something we are doing is clearly not working.
You mean lying and bias isn't a great strategy for a newspaper? I'm shocked!
We must be accurate, and we must be believed to be accurate. It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but we are failing on the second requirement.
Dude, really? You're failing on the second BECAUSE you are failing on the first. You report using anonymous unconfirmed sources when they fit your narrative and you DON'T report credible stories when it HURTS your narrative. The fact that he won't admit that his paper is biased is a sign that he does not intend any real reform.
Many people are turning to off-the-cuff podcasts, inaccurate social media posts and other unverified news sources, which can quickly spread misinformation and deepen divisions.
I will concede that some of this statement is true, but there are also real journalists who have been forced into the Substack / podcast ecosystem because that is the only way they can get their reporting out. These are credible people.
I don't believe WaPo will transform into credible news source, but I'll be watching.
Right on!
Many people are turning to off-the-cuff podcasts, inaccurate social media posts and other unverified news sources, which can quickly spread misinformation and deepen divisions.
I wonder who he is referring to here. Joe Rogan? Megan Kelly? Controlled opposition like (((Shapiro)))? Or the glut of smaller guys that are just as factual but slightly less jewed?
If that is what he means, there is an uphill climb he’s facing because wall shit the bed and people moved on. They found other sources that are far less biased, and align with the reality of the world we see. The rag that bezos owns is not going to turn any corners to fix itself relative to where others now are accustomed to going.
He probably isn't referring to anyone in particular rather he is trying to discredit the space as a whole. I think you're right, this isn't going to work, people have moved on.
