Socialism is a corruption of Christianity. They removed God and redemption but they still have sacred texts and they still believe in an end-of-days (end of capitalism) that will be followed by an eternal paradise. Marx grew up in a Christian culture. He may have denied the existence of God but never left the culture. He knew nothing else.
