Ebonics isn't an invention, it's a bastardization of a human language. It is based on English, but it is a degenerated form of it coming from the mouths of lazy non-humans that attempt to unsuccessfully mimic the sounds humans make to communicate. It is unintelligible as the areas of speech where they fail at mimicking the sounds are 1) left completely absent, 2) filled in with a mix of nearby sounds from similar words, or, most commonly, 3) completely unrelated sounds and words or partial words.

It was developed by slaves so White oppressors couldn't understand them.

Actually it comes from England. Most of the characteristics that they point to as being Ebonics can be traced to rural English farmers.

Point taken, but, I would argue rather than a bastardization, a linguistic devolution, invented by lazy mouth-breathers inclined to find new ways to shorten gratification - in this instance, da gibz.. at least the zulu clicks and whistles had function.

Wanted to add : I always appreciate your prose.
