I remember at one point in my life having a realization like this. People don't like when others have big ideas that push against the commonly held beliefs, generally speaking. It makes them uncomfortable and that discomfort comes out sometimes in unexpectedly negative ways. It's especially evident on the internet where you may be much further than the average person in various journeys for knowledge, truth, and so forth, and stating plain as day facts (to you) may elicit very negative responses despite you having done the research to know what you're saying is indeed factual and the truth. I finally realized this is human society's version of white blood cells attacking a foreign invader (to them) and it was at that point I decided to never again allow other people's lack of personal development or progress to hold me back again, ever.
Best decision I ever made. If you're a Ferrari, don't let the Prius's of society tell you going fast is a sin and make you feel bad for doing it.
