Actually it falls under the benzo drug family, not antispasmodics, and is mainly used for panic attacks/anxiety. It doesn't relax your muscles so much as your mind which can in turn lead to less unconscious clenching so it is sometimes prescribed to assist in that. In high doses it'll definitely zonk you out and make you not care what's happening around you or to you. I've also seen people get benzo rage and hulk the fuck out. I highly doubt date rapists are using Xanax as a primary agent for their devious decisions.
