In practice people were being told they need to get a signed letter from an official of their faith (a so called “authority” on their religious beliefs), or their requests were flat out denied. Taking something like this to court is expensive and even then it depends on whether or not the judge has been brain washed by the news.
I have a great deal of sympathy for people who caved in and got the jab to save their jobs, or their entire careers. Some people have families to feed, bills to pay, and debts that won’t back off. If I were faced with firing it would have been far less risky for me to refuse and see what happens. I can’t speak for other people.
No one would help you financially if you lost your career to avoid the jab. No one would help you if you got it and suffered a debilitating injury or death. It was a horrible situation.

That was the plan from the beginning but they knew if they got a certain percentage to take the donut the rest would fall in line.

Legally speaking, no such letter is required. It takes 30 seconds to look up the SCOTUS ruling on this. Let them flatly deny it and hand them their asses in court.

Sincerely held religious beliefs hold no regard for financial costs. They're in line with this:
16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. 18 But even if He does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”
To the wall, no deals with the devil.

Why? I'm far less concerned about evil authoritarians than spineless cowards who bow to them. There are always evil tyrants, but they're powerless without sheeple.
Some people have families to feed, bills to pay, and debts that won’t back off.
What good does that do them if they sell their souls and die from the clotshot?
No one would help you financially if you lost your career to avoid the jab
I have a great many people in my life who would, and would do the same for them. Community is important.
