That came later but yeah, I was pretty disappointed when he caved under pressure and relented. I wish regardless of the consequences he would have kept calling it a hoax. I never could deduce whether he was a shabbos goy or not. On one hand he seems to have pissed them off so bad they're still after him years later, on the other he did a couple things that was definitely kikey.
