I've had some really good teachers but some of them to your point just read out of the book and their voices sounded like dragging a piece of glass across a chalkboard. My 7th grade teacher was old when she taught me. She's actually still alive which I can't believe she must be close to 100 years old now.

Wow, and yeah, I definitely had some teachers, maybe max 3, that taught me so much, I'll be forever grateful.

What I really mean by my comment (which is a quote by a homeschool pioneer) is that sometimes the teacher needs to get out of the way and let the student ruminate etc.

They say "people are best persuaded by those ideas and thoughts and answers that they come up with themselves."

Something like that.
