That's not really true though is it? A lot of people have had issues with gays, lesbians or trans people and that's quite clear when you look at history. There are still laws in many jurisdictions prohibiting homosexual behavior and many religious texts prescribe the death penalty for homosexual behavior, so it's stupid to say that no one cared. I have always found drag shows repulsive and disgusting and I'm around 40yo. But I would concede that until around 10 years ago gays and lesbians could basically do what they want and more conservatives got more libertarian in their views towards whether to let adults gays or lesbians do what they wanted. So to create conflict those pushing agendas needed to get kids involved to be able to claim more conservatives were haters. They also appropriate the advances gays have made by trying to lump in the child surgery and trans/drag with gays. It's really disgusting to me to see all these concerns over 'LGBT' and then see it's about castrating minors, very dishonest.
