Now let that sink in:

  • A lot of their system still depend on very old code/hardware. And those are decades old.

  • Those who knew how to deal with it are retiring/gone.

Now many of the so called newly hired 'coders' have no idea what they are dealing with and likely still just mimic and reuse code with no real understanding.

This makes me curious how many of those new coders are either foreigners or people who went through those programming bootcamps.

Diversity, essentially pajeets.

[–] 2 pts

Pajeet is one of my favorite words.

[–] 0 pt

Pajeets are fucking horrible coders .... dealing with their shit (at least I should be) today.

[–] 1 pt

95% of the pajeet 'engineers' (as they call themselves lol) can't even write code that will compile.

As AOU says, a lot of diversity hires, especially curry niggers. Curry niggers are terrible programmers. Typically what happens is that one of them gets into HR and starts hiring only other curry niggers, most of whom have fake degrees from Streetshitterland, and the one or few remaining White men have to take up the slack. Once they leave or are fired for being White, that's it, it's all downhill from there.

How much about software engineering do you know?

I hate the foreign worker racket as much as anyone, but doubt that’s the case here. Much more likely, the original systems were all built on systems and languages that were antiquated decades ago. Lack of budget to do anything about it has forced engineers to continue band-aid solutions to keep the old stuff going, while adding functionality layers on top of it.

As time has gone by, less and less people understand how the original systems are built, nor do they have the knowledge to replicate it. As it finally begins to fail, there is literally nobody left, and no systems available to keep it together.

The layers of new functionality and other hang-on crap is coded by curryniggers. And it typically breaks if anything about the stuff it's built on is changed, and it's so convoluted that it can't be reused or fixed. In many cases, that's a major barrier to fixing the outdated underlying system, among other factors.

I work for a company that is often accused of hiring out to curry nuggets by those here, and can guarantee that’s not the case - at least for my teams (big company). In my experience with adding new capability to old existing government systems. They’re all old, and forced to continue because they don’t want to replace anything…but still want new stuff on top of it.

As everyone here can imagine, the government does a terrible job in managing their infrastructure, terrible job in planning, and terrible job in finance management.

Was this not tied to the ATC strike many years ago? Reagan then famously "fired" them, only to have to quietly rehire most of them? Sort of a time-stamp for how long this has gone on?

I understand the problems which arise with dead and archaic languages. When I was in college I learned, and have long since forgotten, a little scripting like html, javascript, and css. While using computers has always generally interested me, I find people who're more advanced on the topic are best avoided due to their own mental health issues.

While I know outsourcing, importing, and the demands of the intelligentsia have made the most significant impacts on who's allowed entry into such fields, it didn't help that most programmers who got in were either some derivation of retarded, or outright psychotic members of the intelligentsia. What person understanding the broader implications of being regularly exposed to mentally feeble and psychologically mal-adapted people would want to be around that for 45 or more hours a week?

The chickens are coming home to roost finally. I'm sure we will be seeing more of this in the coming years across all industries. I relish it.

Yup been there. Literally my current predicament.

Honest coder that raises every concern they found. Does deep dives on codes and commits to find issues no one would have found and would have went out. Made concerns out of those issues and made sure they were followed up and fixed.

Literally on my yearly reviews "Asks too many questions. Too thorough."

Large companies DO NOT operate under economic capitalism. They DO NOT have proper economic competition. They DO NOT have to provide good or competitive product to operate and survive.

This leads to subpar people getting promoted because the bar for merit is just "could literally make a product work". Not "could make a competitive product that beat everyone else's (there is no everyone else's, banks gov and regulations cleared the way).

So "could literally just make a product run, enough of the time to pass testing" mixed with the most lieing out of anyone else gets you the promotion. And cliches form so the liars can protect themselves and their positions and they start having issues with the honest people because they make them look bad. Simply for just being honest and reporting issues etc.

Planned obsolescence means, why fix something when it will be replaced. No accountability for systems failing or being breached.

This makes it always someone else's problem.

Honest coder that raises every concern they found.

That's the reason why he's not a pajeet and paid the price for being honest and competent.

Just wait until you see what is happening behind the scene's at hospitals across the country. That industry is hanging on by a handful of threads.

I work in industrial solar.. the amount of sheer incompetence is astounding. Everything is broken and it basically never works or hits target energy production. And this is supposed to be 100% of our energy in 5 years?

[–] 3 pts

Not even. Just making it look like they are. Hospitals are absolutely fucked despite paying no taxes, getting subsidies, the COVID scam cash grab and how badly they over-charge shit. I know 4 nurses who have already started a new career bc they know what is coming down that shit pipe. Hospitals are basically the new casino scam to skim a lot of money off of.

[–] 3 pts

well ya I mean do you want things to work or diversity?

at this point "diversity" is a cover to destroy the country under the guise of compassion.

when this country is a husk some unaware shit lib will still be saying "diversity is our strength"

"Waaaahhhh my private jet wasn't allowed to take off for three hours waaaahhhh"

Sounds like rich people problems to me lol. Maybe try a vacation in your own country instead of being a degenerate tourist. Everyone in every country thinks tourists are obnoxious cringey weirdos.

Hey fuck you. I actually want to visit Europe and see where my forebears came from and visit great centers of learning. I support local economies when I travel overseas.

I can surely trust this guy!! He was a flight attendant or a gate host! Surely he knows what's really going on!

Welcome back, cubicle #33 sleeper.

His job was reviewing code and he got fired for exposing major issues (intentionally planted in?).
