Christ's lineage is traced from King David, Christ's father was a Hebrew.

Christ eschewed his own people, not because they were Hebrews, but because they were evil.

Jesus was an Israelite. He was a direct descendant of Levi through Aaron.1 Levi was a son of Jacob. Jacob was named Israel by God.2 Jesus was also a direct descendant of Judah through David. Judah was also a son of Jacob.3 Jacob’s sons were the first Israelites. Jesus was specifically an Israelite because he was a direct descendant of two of the sons of Jacob/Israel.

Hopefully this explains the confusion on why he is frequently referred to as a Jew. He was a Hebrew, an Israelite, and a Judahite. He was not a Jew. Jew refers to an entirely different people and is a modern word (roughly 1000 years old). The confusion serves them. Jesus explicitly calls them out and rebukes them for their false claims of linage.

We only know what we read, you have people you trust, I have people I trust.

Whether those sources can 'come together' I don't know, but it's not that much of an issue for me.

Jesus upbraids them for much more damning things than lineage of course (if indeed he did do that).

The chief point of the jews' multiple 'failures' and sins, in antiquity, which was decreed, was decreed, not so much so as to focus on the jews, necessarily, at that point in time, as evil, but to show that all mankind, no matter who God would have chosen to show divine favor, would have blown it, due to original sin, depravity of man.

Actually it is indeed the jews, I'm not saying otherwise, but I haven't the time or (or is it 'nor') inclination to explain what I've explained a thousand times on Voat, and sometimes here.

My own understanding of the situation probably makes me more bitter towards them than many people here.
