Giving $1400 to every man, woman, and child in the United States only accounts for about $500 billion. The other $7.5 trillion went to something else, obviously. If they had handed out all $8 trillion to individuals it would have been about $23,000 each person. A family of four would get $92,000. At least inflation might have been a little more tolerable in exchange. Instead we get the inflation caused by $92,000 per family without having received the $92,000.
