I think this is a current generation thing? I worked on the litter picking crew one year and it was never this bad, I always packed out everything I brought in. I don't remember seeing a load of tents left behind either (apparently donated to the homeless, but if so pack them up properly and don't leave it all for someone else to do) They really deserve a lot of shit for this because it's being going on for a long time now and it is not acceptable, all those fields were used for cow grazing so they had to be picked spotless afterwards.
