This is why I got out of the city. The cities are entirely dependent on a steady stream of supplies. Especially large modern cities, with millions of inhabitants. So what happens when anything disrupts that supply chain? We saw some of that during Katrina. Looting, killing, refugee migration, government overreach. etc. Basically chaos. A lot of death. Roads jammed with cars out of fuel. Just in time inventory systems stockpile at most about two weeks of supplies in the system. This is also why I own a fishing rod and live near the fish. Food is an excellent barter item.
