You're projecting. These are bored, narcissistic, sociopaths with nothing but time on their hands and money. I worked a personal protection gig for two years in Monaco. I have observed the ultra-rich up close in their natural habitat. Their egos are absolutely astounding. And I can tell you that they are absolutely obsessed with flaunting their wealth and power in the peasant's faces. They have people on staff who's only job is to ensure that their pictures are in the tabloids doing rich things that you can't. From the clothing they wear, to the car their chauffeur drives them around in, to the house they live in, to the vacations they are constantly taking, every facet of their lives is calculated to differentiate them from you. Hell, that's half the fun. The quickest way to get one of them to stop doing something is too tell them that the regular people are doing it. "They have lavish parties just to impress each other with how wealthy and powerful they are." Please. Nothing is less impressive to the rich than another rich guy's party. It's about being seen with other rich people by the proles reading the tabloids.
