Kids should not be exposed to any sexual material until they have gone through puberty. They have no idea how to interpret them except that's vaguely something they will grow up to be. So, of course, they will be confused what their sexuality is. They haven't been flooded with their respective sex hormones just yet. People have to protect their own kids from other adults who try to prime them for their own sexual benefit. Adult gays will try to molest young boys so they'll be primed to interpret their hormonal signals as them being gay. It is the duty of the parents to guide their children through the tumultuous time called puberty.
