Yeah I'm not sure if it needs to be plugged in to have a ground for it to block. You can check by calling your phone when out and in the microwave to prove if it is effective and then be confident that it is working. You can also have a sign telling your friends to stfu and put their phone in their. Then explain why and how it works. Then you can talk about anything you want.
