Yep!

I haven't gone off grid, but I've turned down better paying jobs because I'm done with the rat race. I enjoy zero credit card debt with my house and car paid off. I have never been happier.

  1. Spend below your means.
  2. Purchase a fixer-upper home in a nice area. One without outrageous property taxes if possible.
  3. Purchase your vehicle, pay it off and keep it for as long as you can.
  4. Cook your own food and make your own coffee.
  5. Establish good credit. Use credit cards for daily purchases (you want those cashback rewards), pay them off every time you get paid, don't wait until they are due.

Americans are fucked - you say you leave in the freest and most prosperous country in the world but you settle with bullshit like 2 weeks vacation and 6 weeks maternity leave when literally everywhere else in the civilized world we get 4-6 weeks off and a year or more paid maternity leave.

Oof, you said it. At my last job our corporate offices were in Germany. The VPs would often travel to the states for meetings and would joke with us about lending us some of their vacation days because they just couldn't get around to using them all. We earned an extra week after 5 years with the company, they started with almost a month and a half on hiring.

Immigration prevents pockets of defenders by design. If there were all white neighborhoods all over the place other than just in upper class woketopias, then this shit would have ended a long time ago. It's been proven that the more diverse a neighborhood is the less trust there is amongst neighbors, thus canceling out the possibility of the former. For example why are no go zones so dangerous?.. The dense tight knit population that inhabits it, like a hive.

I remember when I first looked at my rent costs and then looked at house prices and thinking "WOW, if I buy I can pay off my house in 5 years!!!"

Then I learned that they fuck you with all the interest at the very beginning of the mortgage to keep you from paying off the equity early. That you start off paying mostly interest and barely any principal and have to scrape along for 15 years before you get some momentum on the equity. It's all designed to keep people who don't start off with money from acquiring enough to get ahead and compete with the banks who print it all.

The Trick: Any money you pay over the monthly payment goes directly to the principle.

Don't forget PMI! If you don't put down 20%, then you have to pay 'insurance' until you've paid 20% of the principal. It's an after-effect of the 2008 financial crisis.
