Spatial awareness. If you know the size and shape of your vehicle, you can do just about anything.

That is basically controlling a jack-knife. Very skillful. There are drivers who can do it blind side (where the view from the truck is completely obstructed by the trailer....and have been doing it long before there were back up cameras).
