Not to mention the state the roads are in. I'm expected to keep my truck in perfect condition but the roads are 3rd world. It's like driving on the surface of the moon half the time.
I guess you've been on I-40 in Arizona. That has got to be the worst highway I think I've ever been on. They almost seem to be proud if it's absolute carnage causing abilities.
I'll go out of my way to switch to i-10 once I'm passed Texas because of how bad i-40 is. IMO, the worst interstate right now is i-70 through Indiana. I genuinely get concerned I'm going to blow a steer through there.
I haven't been on i-70 that high in about a decade. The couple times I've driven East from Colorado I end up jumping on 50 and taking that as far as I can before I want to flip out from being stuck in too much traffic. Think I got as far as St Joe's Missouri.
