Truck drivers don't get enough credit.

They are some of the most resourceful, resilient, and spatially aware people on earth. These guys pull of absurd shit like this on a regular basis. Clearly, the man in the video has done this exact maneuver before, probably many times- he found what worked for him. Can't see behind yourself because trailer is in the way? Then do this! It's not even that dangerous- he's got both feet on stable ground, one hand gripping something, and the other using the wheel. The guy knows what he's doing.

If you've ever worked with truck drivers, you'll gain a new respect for them. The hours they put in, the shit they have to put up with when making pickups or deliveries, the independence they must have- these are all very admirable qualities.

Of course, there are many shitheads among them- but this is the nature of any occupation.

I dislike the stereotype of truckers being "meth addict rednecks". Sure, some of them are that- but if you are a CDL holder and driving commercially, drug use is very risky- trucker smokes a bit of pot on Saturday at home, then on Thursday he's driving, some jackass rear-ends him... and now he's probably going to have to take a drug test and lose his CDL and job. The driving part of the job is the easy part- sitting in a truck and being paid (very well) to drive for 6 hours, spend a few hours at a pickup or delivery, and then head back to the depot and clock out; most people would kill to have a job like this. You can eat and drink, listen to music, w/e- just drive. The tricky parts are like what we see in this video.

Okay, I'm done fellating truck drivers. Just remember this the next time you're trying to pass a trucker on the highway because they're only going 65 mph; chances are, they have a limiter on the truck that doesn't allow them to go any faster!
