I can back a condo with a 53' trailer anywhere it can fit but I can't use a camera to even back a 4 wheeler for shit. It just throws me off.
Sounds like you've become so used to relying on your innate, lifelong developed spatial awareness to maneuver trailers that you simply don't need the extra feature.
I had to get my car serviced a while back, got a rental with a backup camera- I found my eyes flicking back and forth between the screen and my rear view mirror so much, I couldn't focus and I just shut off the screen and parallel parked without it. I turned it back on to help me straighten out the parking job and give the other cars some good room, though, so I think cameras like this could be useful for you in certain situations.

I know the exact dimensions of my cars to the point I can tell at first glance if I can dive into a parallel parking spot like race car drivers diving into their pit boxes on a busy and crowded pit road. When renting a car that has all the safety gizmos, it is quite disorienting to the point I feel like it is fighting me.
Yeah I could see that, no peripheral vision. Having them on every car and truck is silly but the detachable trailer ones are cool.
