The map makers don't take into account that some roads are only car-wide.

I watched a guy attempt to drive into a heavily secured area on my current worksite. I stopped him and told him where to go, his GPS was trying to take him to the back dock of the building. I'm not even allowed to go there, and I work there.

Exactly. It's partly on the GPS, partly on truck routes constantly changing, but it's 100% on the driver. The Rand Mcnally isn't going to lie to you. If you're unsure, pull the brakes, throw the 4 ways on, and check your map.

Also, G.O.A.L. doesn't only apply to backing into a spot. I can't tell you how many times I've walked a block or two just to see if I'd be able to maneuver my truck into an area.

They built a warehouse near my dad's house. Told everyone the trucks would enter straight from X highway no thru traffic.

Of course his quiet suburban neighborhood hood has trucks driving around it all the time now.

Get better signage. But it is to be expected. If there's a warehouse in the middle of a neighborhood, just expect truck traffic. Don't get mad at the truckers. Most of us agree with you. We don't want to go there either.

Get mad at a warehouse/plant that decided to build in the middle of your neighborhood.

I'll throw one of those signs right under or over these signs in the near future. I actually have a lot of plans to spread messages. I drive all over the country. I might as well utilize it.
