Dubai is full of horror stories. They have debtors prisons too. I never had any interest going to that part of the world.

It's not worth it. I don't care who you are. Especially if you are a woman.

If I had to go there for work or something I would absolutely not allow my wife to go with me. Women who are RAPED by (often) hotel staff go to jail for months to YEARS for "sex outside of marriage".

Any country that is that fucking backwards should not exist in the modern world and the rapists should be [TOS VIOLATION] and make it hurt as much as possible and PUBLIC.

They make it sound like it's all progressive and awesome but from people I know who've been there, the place sucks.

Until about a year ago that massive tower they built had to store all sewage on-site and had a army of sewage trucks to transport it away to a treatment plant because they didn't bother to build the sewer system to support the tower before they started to build the tower.

First order thinking, basically NPC level stupid.

I’ve spent a lot of time in Dubai over the last 25 years. The thing that always amazed me was the amount of prostitution that went on. Talk about human trafficking

"10 minute marriages". Because, you know.. Sex outside of marriage is punished by jail or death.

Amazing the amount of "loopholes" the sand people will go through to justify their "morality".
