It would be nice if at least right leaning news sites could stop perpetuating this BS phrasing. Nobody is "assigned" anything at birth, that is just objectively untrue. The doctors don't decide anything, your sex is observed when you're born in the hospital and it's written down for medical and factual purposes. What you do with that info is on you.
