It was classified as mental illness in the USA until just recently. The WHO removed it in 2019. Dr. Frankensteinburg figured out there was more funding and more fun to get the government healthcare system to pay for those half-million-dollar "sex change" operations at taxpayer expense.

I thought that they were trying to keep it as a mental illness in the US because then you could get insurance to pay for the surgeries/meds. If it is no longer a mental disorder its "elective treatment" for meds and surgery.
