When I started at the job I work at now as a sysadmin, I was a temp janitor making 9 dollars an hour. This was fall of 2017. I spent 8 months trying to find an IT job with no luck, my wife was 7 months pregnant, the time had come to take whatever I could get. I also had two teenage boys in the house. 9 dollars an hour.
One day I had a crib, bassinet, bags of clothes, more diapers than I could fit in my car. I didn’t have to buy my son clothes or anything until he was almost three. My job knew I was working my ass off, they new I’d never ask for a handout. That day was one of the few times in my life I cried. A huge weight had been lifted. A strong community bands together to help those who are trying their best, but struggling. It’s only as strong as it’s weakest link.
Children are a joy, not an expense.
That warmed my cockles. I hope you have found better fortune for you and yours.
Children are indeed a joy.
I have, I went from janitor to IT Systems Administrator. Hard work and positive attitude goes a long way.
