Now the identity politics drive wedges in family units. I don't know how ideologically-separated couples can maintain healthy relationships or bring up well-adjusted children.

This is honestly the reason I support limiting who has voting rights. Families should discuss and come to a decision together and cast one unified vote.

This old way is how the Amish swung Pennsylvania to trump in '16

when the amish vote, they vote as one block, and obama passed a law saying they had to buy insurance by paying someone outisde their community. This pissed them off by a tune of 400,000+ votes for trump

Didn't even think about that. Its a good point.

The more realistic way forward, barring massive civil upheaval and balkanization of the USA, would be to allow two votes per family but they are inseparable... single male female retain their one vote

The more I think about it this way the more I wonder if it was for the betterment of our society to have just men voting and was women gaining the right to vote really a positive thing?

Glad you think that it's at least worth a discussion

when I first was on traditional wives on vote and this was a discussion, I though it was crazy that people had the thought that women should not vote but I listened to their thoughts and yeah if it's more like a family vote but the ultimate decision is with the husband, well isn't that what a traditional marriage is all about?
