You can't live without water, you can live without electricity, you can live without a lot of stuff, including food (you need a minimum), but not more than 3/5 days without water

And most importantly you can't manufacture water

You can manufacture the rest, but not water

(yes you can theoretically (science.howstuffworks.com), "Where there's a will there's a way" like the other psychopath would say, but fuck it)

...

Now, from there you have two options

Either you go for a place where there's water, and chances are you aren't going to be alone, nor left alone with all sorts of humans around, starting with public employees and shit fucking with you for taking a piss in the wild or whatever

Or you do the exact opposite, you go for a place where there's no water, on purpose, because you know nobody can live there... Except maybe you?

...

This is how they "catch" water from fog in peruvian mountains (there's no water up there)

https://youtu.be/h8rQ5aHAnuE?t=18

You have water, you theoretically can start growing food/feed animals, and eat, and live evidently

The rest well, bring it with you, or not

...

Another alternative is to live on a boat, that's an entire different universe

Good point, and this echoes many of my thoughts

The hardest to replace, is social interraction

Because the simple idea of spending the rest of your days (roughly 40 years...), alone, on the equivalent of a forgotten planet... Isn't an healthy one, even for a monk

You might start losing your mind and pondering suicide real quick in that, factually pointless, situation

It's a pointless life, even amish have each others, even monks have each others, even inmates have social interraction, even those in solitary confinement for the rest of their days see at least the face of a guard sometimes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Silverstein

You'll tell me at least you'll breath fresh air and are free to to take a walk when you want, as opposed to silverstein, but you get the idea

The lone monk (because it's that)... Not everybody can go through that path, very few people can without losing their mind at some point, imo

...

Now if you have the network and a machine... You can replace that artificially, like we do now, this is somehow a social interraction, the internet

It's viable, it's not necessarily ideal, but it's viable, depends of people of course, some just can't live like that they need mundane shit, cinema, night club, restaurants etc

That, is what you'll miss the most, your interraction with the world, the literal sense of your life, unless you go full alchemist or some shit trying to find the devil or whatever but that's simply insane lol

...

Problem with the network is that it pings your position...

I have a group of survivors, most of them family and decades old friends. Once things stabilize, I plan on offering those who are caught in the chaos but unprepared survivors serfdom in exchange for loyalty.

Those with me in the beginning, will be a part of the ruling committee. I dont plan on having a democracy.
