So in the event of a breakdown, it goes without saying, that more than likely, you will not be going in to work. Even in the event of a total economical collapse, you will still need to trade and barter at some point. What tradable services and goods could you produce, that would help you get what you need, and then some?

black smithing, electrical repair, carpentry, soap making, sewing and towing services, mechanical, etc would all give you an avenue from which to acquire goods. What are your ideas?

I would think it would happen organically like one person in a neighbor hood has digital movies or music and the neighbor wants to use it and so they connect their networks via a cable or wifi. I could be dead wrong but that is how I would think that would happen.

youre probably right. its highly possible also, that leadership and roles would be more natural and organic as well.

I would think smaller communities would lead themselves probably far more effectively than any large organization such as a federal government can. However again just a guess.

I am of the opinion, that the original founders of america knew this. They(with the exception of a few) felt that destiny would ultimately lead back to small governments, providing that the populace had the grapes to stand up and set things right again. Since that has yet to happen, it could be that nature in of itself will do it for us. Nothing wholesome or meaningful can be gained with big government and as lincoln once said, "theres too many pigs for the tit". A small, local body of government, could more readily address the needs, rather than passing the buck and deflecting in the name of optics or lobbyist. No brainer issues would be treated as such and dealt with quickly, rather than just jerking everyone off with excuses, because there would be actual conseauences back by the real purveyors of justice.... the people.
